This was not a NY or NJ pizza but it was one of the best I've had locally. We ordered two pies - the meatball and the mushroom. It starts raining a little, which is when another table discovered if they wanted to go inside, they couldn't bring their drinks in with them, drinks for which they had paid dearly. "How Can I Help You?" We asked about the rule we were told about and he really couldn't give an answer beyond that's what they decided. When we get there, we discover you have to order at the bar. While that was enough to make me want to head elsewhere, we decided to stick it out and stick to pizza. Of course, this answer makes no sense because we would have been happy to come down to get it to-go and bring it up ourselves. I asked about this wacky sounding rule and he tells me it's so that servers aren't going up and down the stairs. ![]() Nope, our blue haired host says somewhat snarkily only pizza is allowed upstairs. So I asked a few questions like could we order some sides to go and then bring them up. We then get told that only pizza can be ordered upstairs. When we got there, it was clear the temp was too chilly for us to sit inside. My friends and I were looking forward to trying Harvest. I seldom write negative reviews here, but sometimes you gotta call things out. If you are in the mood for thin crust pizza that is as good as you will find in Asheville, this is the spot. I will go back to this fun place in a heartbeat. Somehow it didn't seem right to leave them for the next day. These were so delicious we devoured both even though neither of us was hungry when we motored through the last 4 slices. I was there with a friend and we ordered two thinking we would take maybe a half pie home. Service was friendly, prompt, attentive without being overly so, and the characters we met were fun and very Asheville. due to the large space with little to absorb sound and the thumping dance bar on the roof directly above the dining room, but don't let that stop you. The room is an immense high-ceilinged space that has been remodeled in an industrial chic style. I don't frequent South Slope that much so I didn't know about this place until a friend recommended it and boy what a surprise.
